What if the mind doesn't stop at your skull?

A blind person taps a cane along the sidewalk. Where does their mental system begin? At the hand? The cane's tip? The surface of the street? Bateson argued the answer is all of it. The mind isn't locked inside the brain. It includes the cane, the street, the feedback loop between them.
