Why It’s More Important to Follow Resonance Over Rules
Behind the cathedrals and castles of medieval Europe lies a mystery. When the stonemasons’ work of stone began to fade, they transformed their guild into something new. From the outside it looked like a fraternity. From the inside it carried hidden teachings about how to live in resonance with the deepest laws of life — knowledge passed quietly, guarded as secret wisdom.
Masonry is not concerned with external conformity but with inner regeneration.— Walter Leslie Wilmshurst
English barrister and author of "The Meaning of Masonry". He founded a lodge devoted to Masonry’s inner meaning, seeing it as a continuation of the ancient Mysteries. For Wilmshurst, Masonry’s deepest lesson was not ritual or secrecy but how to live aligned with the universal order.
